Sex Education Still has to find a Place in Bookshelves
Some words can be termed as superlative in itself when it comes to evoking human stimulation. Sex is one of such words. No denying the fact that there can be difference in perception of terms for every culture but it is something that have been considered as one of most pleasure giving human activities across the culture. Despite sex being the root cause of all evolution it is often spoken covertly in most of the existing cultures in world.
Time to time scholars debate about incorporating sex education as a part of our education system but in reality it has been able to find a place of significance only in medical books. Lack of proper sex education and awareness of the same have gifted this world many fatal diseases yet it has still to find a respectable place in the bookshelf of students.
It is essential to understand what actually sex education means? It can be understand as an act or process of acquiring information or forming attitudes and beliefs about sex, sexual identity, relationships and intimacy. The objective of this basic education is simple but of very significant value. It aims to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted pregnancies and above all making individuals confident of her/his behavior. It will help children to develop their analytical and decision making capabilities subsequently enabling them to establish better relationship with the person of opposite sex.
Most of the young males and females stepping in their teens suffer from countless prejudiced views. These views often curb their natural bodily demands and develop resistance that sometimes becomes a cause of their sexual dysfunction. Effective sex education will help young ones to rightly know why people have sex. Knowing the right essence, they can develop the importance of emotional attachment for having sex. Perhaps it is the emotion that differentiates between sexual behavior of human and animal.
There can be a potential question that if universalization of sex education is possible? Yes, even after accepting the fact that every society has its own set of norms. Some behaviors are considered taboo in some society while the same can be seen widely prevalent and well accepted in the other. It is better to keep socio-cultural aspects out while talking about sex education. The basic objective of sex education is to impart right knowledge in order to make a person more matured and rational in his/her sexual behavior and not of teaching him/her those social norms that are being reminded to them at every step.
